Ukraine in Arabic | The delegation of DUMU visited Palestine
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ From 16 to 21 August, the delegation of Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims (DUMU), headed by the Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Akhmed Tamim, visited Palestine. Its representatives met with the Minister of religious Affairs and Holy places of Palestine Mahmoud al-Habash.
The meeting was attended by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Palestine to Ukraine Muhammad Al-Asaad and the head of the Department for external relations of the DUMU Sheikh Khusameddin Al-Khalavani. Al-Habash stressed the important role of DUMU and the Mufti of Ukraine in familiarizing Ukrainian society with high morals of Islam. Minister for religious Affairs and Holy places of Palestine also thanked the Ukrainian delegation for their efforts in establishing and building strong brotherly ties between the Muslims of the two countries.
During the meeting, al-Habash expressed his admiration of the largest in Ukraine and the first Cathedral mosque in Kiev – The Ar-Rahma mosque.
Sheikh Ahmed Tamim thanked the Minister for the invitation and said that DUMU is ready to cooperate with all whose purpose is the benefit of Islam and Muslims around the world, in particular in Ukraine and Palestine. In addition, he proposed a closer cooperation between the DUMU and the Ministry of religious Affairs and Holy places of Palestine.
Then the delegation met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Minister of religious Affairs and Holy places of Palestine Mahmoud al-Habash and the head of the presidential administration of Palestine Hussein al-Arash.
The Ukrainian delegation was warmly greeted by Abbas who thanked the DUMU and Sheikh Ahmed Tamim for efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The head of the Palestine said he intends to visit Ukraine in the near future, brought greetings to all citizens of Ukraine, as well as invited Ukrainians to visit the Holy land of Palestine.
The Mufti of Ukraine thanked him for such a honor and said he’s ready to work on more strengthening relations between Palestine and Ukraine. At the end of the meeting everybody exchanged gifts.
Within the visit, the DUMU’s delegationmetwith manyrepresentatives of the clergyin different citiesof Palestine andtook part inthe closing ceremonyof the annual international tournamentin reading and knowledge of Quran.
Minister for religious Affairs and Holy places of Palestine Mahmoud al-Habash together with the Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Akhmed Tamim presented the certificates and prizes to the winners and medalists of the tournament from Arab and foreign countries. Ukraine was represented by the student of the Islamic University in Ukraine Denis Aktov at this tournament.
