"The Ministry of Internal Affairs supports the idea of ​​equality in the security and defense sectors. One of the fundamental steps in gender parity was the adoption by our state of a number of documents. This is UN Resolution 1325, the state program and general documents of Ukraine-NATO cooperation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was one of the first to approve its own plan measures to implement the UN resolution Over the past two years, we can see a positive trend in the increase in the number of women in the Ministry of Internal Affairs - 2% National Police, 5% - State Emergency Service, more than 7% - NSU. An increase in the number of women in leadership positions. In 2017, we opened almost 450 posts for women that were previously banned, "said Tatyana Kovalchuk.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that significant important steps in the field of gender equality were taken in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
