KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ The Chechen diaspora has been in Ukraine for 4 years. Thereby its representatives ask the media not to involve them into politics.

"Chechens in Russia are citizens of Russia and the Chechens in Ukraine are Ukrainian citizens. Spreading rumors just scare the public. Our Diaspora from the first day of its appearance has made a lot of effort to eradicate the negative opinion about the Chechens. We do not do politics, do not comment on the political situation and work under Ukrainian law. A lot of us has been living here for decades and consider ourselves as Ukrainian Chechens. We are citizens of Ukraine and stand for a single and indivisible Ukraine. The Chechens here have families, business and they are interested in stability, "- said the representative of the Diaspora Salman Sadayev.

"During these years we have conducted more than 60 different events in the capital and other cities of Ukraine. A dance school was opened in Kiev where Ukrainian children are taught are being taught to the national Chechen dance. The Sunday school for the study of language, traditions and culture of the Chechen people is working also. Besides we have signed a cooperation agreement with Demeevskaya library. We carry out various sports competitions and run a sports section.”, - he told.

"We have many friends among Ukrainians. And we do not want to quarrel with them, but to live together in peace. We do not interfere in the political process, cultivate our traditions and culture. Today we feel the irresponsible attitude of some journalists who do everything to destroy current fragile peace. They try to make a horror story from Chechens. There is no need much to get started kind of ethnic cleansing here now. Chechens in Ukraine are law-abiding citizens, who work for the benefit of the law of Ukraine. Neither members of the Diaspora, nor another Chechens spoke negatively about Ukraine. Personally, I have been livıng here for almost 30 years and have become attached to the Ukraine. But at the last day I’ve received some calls with questions like why we (Chechens) think bad about Ukraine. It is not a secret that Chechens in Chechnya serve in the army, but along with them there are Ukrainians, Bashkirs, Udmurt, "- says Sadayev.

The From the Dnieper to the Terek River international festival of Ukrainian-Chechen Friendship every year takes place in Ukraine. In 2012 it was held 6 events within the festival. The concert of the Chechen National Dance Vaynah has become a main thing among them. It was attended by politicians, bureaucrats, ministers of the Chechen Republic and Ukraine.

"They said that Ukrainians and Chechens are brothers. We’re proud about this. We have opened the avenue of friendship on the Chigorin Street. There are exhibitions of paintings and fashion shows are conducted there. We have signed the agreements between Ukrainian and Chechen student’s organizations. We exchanged journalist delegations. Besides this year we will create the Ukrainian-Chechen children's dance ensemble in Kiev. As far as we know, no other national diaspora holds so many events, such as The Diaspora of the Chechen people All-Ukrainian public organization. Because of that we are really upset now due to such information in media about Chechens", - Sadayev noted.
