According to unofficial data, the number of dead animals is higher than 30 thousand individuals. Cases of death are recorded in two regions of Kazakhstan.
Earlier it was reported that the number of saiga killed in Kostanay region, exceeded 19 thousand. Mass death of animals is also recorded in the Aktobe region. The last case mortality of saigas in the region was registered in may 2012 at the Zhangeldy area. Then the cause of death of 926 individuals became infectious disease pasteurellosis, caused by reducing the natural resistance of animals to infectious agents.
The cause of the present tragedy with animals is not yet established, although on may 18 were taken the appropriate tests of water and soil in places of deaths of animals. "Our main task is to organize the burial of dead animals. For these purposes, we employed 95 people and 24 units of special equipment.
