Ukraine in Arabic | In Odessa was discussed tolerance of society in modern conditions and signed final memorandum

Arrangers of meeting in Odessa - International Congress on protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens "Shield", the International Union of journalists and writers, as well as the Odessa regional organization "National Union of Journalists in Ukraine" - tabled a number of questions that are now important to multicultural Ukrainian society.

 

In particular, at the meeting was opened discussion about the conflicts taking place in the world on interethnic, religious or racial grounds. In addition, the roundtable participants have not ignored the issue of responsibility and respect of media ethics in covering world events, the problems of freedom of speech and human rights.

 

"Today we have almost proved that tolerance is a very important in our lives. Only with its help, we can find a common language, to live in peace and calm, despite the fact that we are all so different. Of course, humanity should be united. In addition we, as representatives of national minorities, are grateful for this country that we have the opportunity to practice our religious beliefs here to keep our traditions. We will always protect the interests of Ukraine ", - has said the president of the Arabic Center in Zaporozhye Hamdani Naoufal.

 

At the conclusion of discussions about tolerance congress participants signed a memorandum, which urged the international community, journalists and all the people of peace and goodwill to be tolerant. It was also proposed to condemn journalists who violate ethical standards in covering issues of religion, the provisions of the UN Charter, and general norms of morality.

  "In our time, it is necessary that journalists themselves have acquired professional ethical consciousness as a condition for the highly standard media that shape public opinion," – it was said in the final memorandum.
