Ukraine in Arabic | EU-Ukraine association agreement to be ratified next year
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ The Ukrainian presidential administration believes that the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU will take full effect by the end of 2015.
"I think by the end of next year we may be able to actually start implementing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU to the full extent that is to get it ratified by all EU countries. We have set such a task," deputy head of the presidential administration Valeriy Chaly said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
He said that all EU countries may complete the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the end of next year, which would mean the entry into force of the document in full.
"Those numbers that we talked about before - several years - now could be realistic in the short term, given such active cooperation with European partners and work. I think that by the end of next year it's absolutely realistic to enact the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in its entirety, that is get ratification in all countries of the European Union,"
He said that the Ukrainian government had set such a "quite realistic" task.
He also added that an inaugural meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council was scheduled for December 15 and that today "very intensive steps on the implementation of the association are expected" from the Ukrainian government.
