Insufficient supplies: Ukraine has increased its imports of food

It is reported that a total of 158 thousand tons for 211 million dollars was imported into Ukraine

The country increased its food imports by 40,000 tonnes in the 17 days of March compared to the same period last year. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of New customs.

It is reported that a total of 158 thousand tons for 211 million dollars was imported into Ukraine, namely:

- dairy products (cheese), poultry eggs, natural honey - 3,177 tonnes for USD 13.6 million. (up 312% from March 17, 2019);
- finished grain products, flour, flour confectionery - 6166 tons for $ 12.3 million. (+ 83%);
- fruits, edible fruits and nuts - 45,837 tonnes for $ 33.9 million. (+ 3%);
- vegetables and some edible roots and tubers - 38,908 tons for $ 20.4 million. (+138);
- milk and buttermilk - 921 tons for $ 1.2 million. (+ 163%);
- fresh fish not processed - 2,493 tons for $ 14 million. (+ 73%);
- fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates ready - 14381 tonnes for $ 18.8 million. (+ 0.5%);
- coffee, tea, mate, or Paraguay tea, and spices - 1,293 tons for $ 43 million. (+ 30%);
- extracts, essences and concentrates of coffee, syrups, sauces, soups and more - 3854 tons for $ 25.1 million. (+ 23%);
- alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and vinegar - 16 610 tons for 23 million dollars. (+ 65%).

Customs also noted that trucks have now been formed at the border with Ukraine in connection with increased sanitary inspection and disinfection.
