The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, held a meeting with Foreign Ministers for the countries of the African High Ranking Commission about Libya, headed by Congolese Foreign Minister and attended by members from Guinea, Niger, South Africa, Mauritania, Tunisia, Algeria, and the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Commissioner, Ismail Sharqi.

The meeting discussed the current political developments in Libya and the AU support for the country's peace and security.

Al-Sweihli called for commitment to the support of the political agreement and more involvement by the AU to deter negative foreign intervention.

"The AU President must take more tough measures that speak out the rejection of the Egyptian violation of Libya's sovereignty." Al-Sweihli said, adding that he is against using terror threats as a pretext for the attacks on Libyan cities and for random shelling that left residents panicking.

"We totally reject exporting a country's problems to another." He added.

The African High Ranking Commission also held a meeting with the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, who also stressed that foreign intervention in Libya, which he said is supporting different conflict parties, must stop for the crisis to be resolved, adding that such an intervention made Libya's crisis more complex.
