Ukraine in Arabic | The Day of Knowledge was celebrated at The Ar-Rahma Mosque
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On September 1st the Day of Knowledge was held in all Ukrainian schools, including The Al-Irshad Middle Specialized School.
The event was traditionally started with the reading of the Holy Quran.
Elegant schoolchildren, charmingly blushing, recited poems dedicated to this event. Their parents were watching them with pride and love at the mosque yard.
The Mufti of Ukraine, Sheikh Ahmad Tamim congratulated the young students of the school on this momentous day, and wished them to reach out for knowledge, and try to learn something new outside the school curriculum.
Older children are set very patriotic; one of their favorite subjects, among others, is the Ukrainian language.
Parents of students say they are very happy because of their children are studying at The Ar-Rahma Muslim school. In addition to the general program for secondary educational institutions in Ukraine, students are taught the oriental culture, Arabic language and lessons of Islam.
"My daughter has now passed in 6th grade. She is quite fluently speaks and writes in Arabic", - says one of the mothers.
