UN plans to allocate $ 165 million to Ukraine to fight coronavirus pandemic
Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said that by the end of the year, the UN plans to allocate $ 165 million to Ukraine as part of the UN humanitarian response plan for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Shmigal wrote about it in his Telegram channel.
According to him, under this plan, the UN plans to mobilize $ 165 million by the end of the year. Of these, $ 84 million will be directed to the primary needs of Ukraine's health care system, and another $ 81 million will go to address the socio-economic impact of the pandemic.
Shmigal noted that WHO, in turn, is working with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to develop a Strategic Response Plan for the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine.
On Friday, the Prime Minister spoke at a meeting with United Nations System Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani, Partnership Advisor for the Office of the United Nations System Coordinator in Ukraine, Olesia Ogryzko, and WHO representative in Ukraine Jarno Habicht.
