Ukraine in Arabic | Ukrainian Muslims celebrate the end of fasting

Ukrainian Muslims have pried pray for peace in eastern Ukraine and Palestine. On July 28 the Muslims from all over the world celebrate a big holiday of Eid al-Fitr – the feast of breaking the fast. Near 5 thousand people come today to the Kiev mosque “Ar-Rahma” for a festive prayer. These are the people from different nationalities, such as Turks, Tatars, Persians, Arabs, Tajiks, and many others who are united by Islam and Ukraine. From 7 o’clock in the morning in the chapel of the mosque were chanted the dhikrs after what it was made a festive collective prayer headed by the Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Ahmad Tamim. At the end of a prayer Sheikh made a solemn speech. He told about an importance of sensation of a holiday and joy in the souls, and urged the Ummah to pray with him to Allah for peace in eastern Ukraine and Palestine.

From 7 o’clock in the morning in the chapel of the mosque were chanted the dhikrs after what it was made a festive collective prayer headed by the Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Akhmed Tamim. At the end of a prayer Sheikh made a solemn speech. He told about an importance of sensation of a holiday and joy in the souls, and urged the Ummah to pray with him to Allah for peace in eastern Ukraine and Palestine.

Mufti also called everybody who has come to a mosque to take care not only about their closest ones but about every person who needs that. After prayer and Mufti’s speech a fair took place at the “Ar-Rahma” grounds. Parishioners and guests could buy souvenirs and taste oriental dishes. Also there were trampolines as an entertainment for kids.

Sheikh Akhmed Tamim has said that at this holy day Ukrainian Muslims also ask the God for peace and goodness to their common home - Ukraine. “Holidays for us this is an opportunity to express a gratitude to God he gave us the strength to hold a fasting and abide by the Qur'an for one hand and a possibility to live on this blessed multi-ethnic land of where we can keep our traditions and rituals for another”, - says the Mufti. According to him, Ukraine is a bridge between East and West and peace and prosperity of our country is a pledge of friendship and understanding between the people of different nations.

At his turn sheikh Rustam Gafuri said that in the light of Ukrainian-Russian relations he hoped that the Muslims of both countries will become an example of peace and unity for another states. Also he added that all Muslims pray for cessation of violence, bloodshed and the restoration of peace in the world.

Eid al-Fitr is a special blessed holiday of forgiveness. Men, women and children ask their faith fellows to forgive them and forgive them in response for no deep-seated insults would prevent to live next year. Also, in this day Muslims usually visit the graves of their relatives and friends.
