Ukraine in Arabic | The inhabitants of Kiev celebrated Mawlid

The event was attended by Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed al-Assad, the Mufti of Crimea Ridwan Veliev, representatives of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek diaspora as well as the head of the Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims the Mufti of Ukraine, Sheikh Akhmed Tamim.

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On January 18th, an event dedicated to birth of the Prophet Muhammad – Mawlid Sharif – was held in The Ar-Rahma Kiev mosque. The event was attended by Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed al-Assad, the Mufti of Crimea Ridwan Veliev, representatives of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek diaspora as well as the head of the Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims the Mufti of Ukraine, Sheikh Akhmed Tamim.

The event traditionally began with the reading of the verses of the Quran by Sultanbaev Abdulmedzhid. Then the video about Prophet (peace be upon them) was shown to all presents. After this a secretary of Religious Administration Ukrainian Muslims (DUMU) read the congratulation on behalf of the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Leonid Novohatko. It says that Ukrainian government appreciates the contribution of the Muslim community in the country's development. Congratulatory message has been sent also from Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Alena Plakida.

Then the students of The Al-Irshad School told about the unity of God; The Ar-Rahma children’s festival female ensemble from Kherson performed the religious hymns.

The Palestinian Ambassador Mohammed Al-Asaad and Mufti of Crimea Ridwan Veliev also congratulated all guests. Head of Crimean Muslims said that Mawlid is a great holiday and believers should honor the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and follow his path.

After the Veliyev’s speech the AL-Irshad the Salam children ensembles performed Madihas (religious songs). Representatives of Azerbaijani and Uzbek communities - Selman and Haji Amir Bekmuradov also congratulated the participants with Mawlid and wished everyone peace, happiness and understanding.

The Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Akhmed Tamim said that Muslims all over the world celebrate the holiday of Mawlid. "We celebrate this holiday with Ukrainians, Russian, Arabs, Azeris, Chechens, Afghans, Bangladeshis and many other nationalities. Allah wants us to be gathered in Ukraine now and in turn, we should demonstrate the knowledge of Islam and to transmit it to future generations, "- he said.
