Ukraine in Arabic | The head of DUMU met with the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On February 25th a meeting of representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations with an acting Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) and acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov was carried out. The heads of confessions, including the Mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Akhmed Tamim, discussed various issues related to the recent events in our country.
Religious leaders called on Ukrainian politicians to make all efforts for resolving the situation in the country and unity of the multinational Ukrainian society.
Addressing the audience, Akhmed Tamim said Muslims of our country stand for its unity. He noted that the followers of Islam pray for peace in Ukraine. The head of DUMU on behalf of all Muslims in the country came out against separatism and dangerous ideology that could be used against members of ethnic minorities.
In his turn, the acting president of Ukraine urged all religious leaders to rally together. Turchynov expressed hope that country and its society will be developed by joint efforts. According to him, such systematic meetings will contribute for it. Turchynov noted that representatives of the authorities are willing to listen to the spiritual leaders of Ukraine.
The leader of The Blow (Udar) Party Vitaly Klitschko also has joined the meeting. He stressed the important role of Muslims of Ukraine in stabilization of the Ukrainian situation.
