Ukraine in Arabic | The first part of so-called Wall to be finished on September 30
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Kiev plans by September 30 to complete the first stage of constructing engineering facilities as part of the Wall Project to reinforce the border with Russia, the press service of the Ukrainian government said on Friday.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told a government meeting on September 3 that Ukraine started building a “real border” with Russia, which is 2,295 kilometers (1,426 miles) long.
The government has also decided to suspend the traffic through 16 out of 65 border checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
“For implementation of the “Wall” project, the government has already allocated UAH 100 million. Work started to build engineering structures, the first stage of work is planned to be completed September 30,” the government noted.
To remind, September 3, Premier Arseniy Yatsenyuk said about the beginning of the “Wall” project on strengthening the border with Russia. Six months are given for the project implementation.
