Ukraine in Arabic | Pentagon urges NATO to create new weapons more quickly
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ As Korrespondent has reported, Pentagon has got new plan called "Innovative defense initiative".
US Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work has urged NATO members to develop and create innovative service as quickly as it possible. This is necessary, said Work, to make America stay ahead amid growing military capabilities of China, Russia and other countries, writes Business Insider.
Work said that the Pentagon's new plan end - "Innovative defense initiative" and other projects focus on the fact that the United States continues to have a decisive competitive edge against potential adversaries.
"We (NATO countries – ed.) should coordinate our actions and cooperate with each other to avoid duplication of effort, use our opportunities and put pressure on our organizations to invest in innovations and technology, concepts, experiments and other of military operations," - he said.
At the same time Work didn’t give details of military plans, but noted that the Pentagon's budget would include a "significant" investment in nuclear weapons, the ability to control space, high-tech detection devices, missile and cyber defense, also unmanned underwater vehicles, aircraft engines and utilization of energy lasers.
It’s important that the defensive budget for 2015 was adopted in December 2014. According to it, total volume on a military sphere is 584 billion dollars.
