Ukraine in Arabic | Egyptian diaspora in Kiev celebrated Eid al-Adha
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On the occasion of the great Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram) started on October 4th, the Egyptian fraternity in Kiev organized a festive dinner for the members of their diaspora.
The event was attended by the head of the Egyptian fraternity Walid Atieh, professor of the Al-Azhar Islamic University Sheikh Ahmad al-Abashiri and representative of DUMU (Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims) Sheikh Khusameddin Al-Khalavani.
At the end of dinner, Sheikh Ahmad al-Abashiri reminded his compatriots of some norms of Islam and said they need to be an example of unity and understanding to all surrounds.
Sheikh Ahmad al-Abashiri arrived in Kiev on the invitation of DUMU in the framework of cooperation and continuous coordination between the religious institutions in the Arab Republic of Egypt headed by the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Dar al-Ifta of Egypt (control, ruling on religious and legal Affairs), as well as Ministry of Waqfs on the one hand, and the Islamic University of the Ukraine and DUMU on the other.
The head of the Egyptian fraternity Walid Atieh noted that today's dinner was attended not by Muslims, Christians but by members of the Egyptian diaspora. "We are friends, regardless of religion. We celebrate holidays all together. Christians greet us with Muslim holidays, and we greet them with theirs. The national holiday of Egypt we celebrate together", - said Mr. Atieh.
