Zelensky reacted to the extradition of "Wagnerists" to Russia
According to him, the consequences of this decision will be tragic.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the extradition of militants to the private military company "Wagner" to Russia, who were detained near Minsk. Among them are citizens of Ukraine.
The president announced this in his Telegram channel.
"This is a bad story. A story in which trust, objectivity and adequate assessment of negative consequences were clearly neglected. We consider such a decision, to put it mildly, unfair, one that does not correspond to the spirit of relations between Ukraine and Belarus, based on the principles of respect and mutual assistance." - Zelensky said.
According to him, the militants extradited to Russia will return to "spreading the war," and the consequences of this "will be tragic."
"The consequences of this decision will be tragic. We understand that the Wagnerites will still return to their usual occupation - the spread of the war. God forbid that the Belarusian authorities do not have to get another blazing, bloodless Donbass on their territory, which the Wagnerites will create. they are very good at it, "the president notes.
He added that it will not be possible to avoid responsibility.
“However, the Wagnerites themselves, and anyone else whose business is death by their own characteristics, must understand that they will still have to answer. Before the law or just before God - time will tell. Nobody can escape responsibility,” - sums up Zelensky.
