Ukraine in Arabic | Round table devoted to the fight against xenophobia, racism and chauvinism
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ The roundtable was attended by representatives of the International Union public organization (IU), national minorities, the members of The People's Defense party, representatives of International Organization for Migration and others.
There were discussed such issues as the ultra-right-wing tendencies in Ukraine and their influence on the development of Ukrainian society, the electoral success of The Svoboda party and legitimation of xenophobic rhetoric in the public discourse, the monitoring of racism, xenophobia and racial discrimination, violations of the rights of national minorities and so forth.
Following the meeting, a collective appeal of the participants of IU to the state authorities was signed. As reported, they want to establish The Interagency Commission on combating xenophobia, racial intolerance and extremism.
