Ukraine in Arabic | International Union will promote the values of Yasser Arafat
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On the evening dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the death of a prominent Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, the chairman of The International Union civil organization (IU) Larisa Abramovich made a speech addressing the audience.
Mrs. Abramovich expressed condolences to the Palestinian people and, personally, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Palestine in Ukraine Mohammad al-Asaad.
Abramovich has emphasized that IU respects the desire of the Palestinians to gain independence and establish their own sovereign state.
She recalled some of the facts of the life of one of the brightest representatives of the Palestinian nation. These are the Nobel Peace Prize and the famous phrase of the first Palestinian president he has said in 1974 from the UN tribune: “I came to you with an olive branch in one hand and a weapon of fighter for freedom in the other. Don’t let the olive branch fall from my hand."
Mrs. Abramovich said IU sincerely wishes to gain long-awaited peace at the Holy Land.
She assured that her organization will promote the values of tolerance and respect for other cultures, nationalities and religions as well as Arafat has been doing before to prevent interethnic, interfaith and other possible conflicts.
