UAE and Turkey in the top ten countries "for the exploitation of citizens of Ukraine"
Over the past 8 years in Ukraine nearly 900 people have been affected by the phenomenon of human trafficking. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Social Policy, which published a figure of 878 people. The main "exploiting countries" included the UAE and Turkey.
"From 2012 to 2019, inclusive, the ministry established this status (the status of a person who suffered from human trafficking) to 878 people, of which 871 are citizens of Ukraine and 8 foreigners," the ministry said.
According to him, 457 citizens suffered from labor exploitation, 224 from sexual exploitation, 57 people were involved in begging. 9 people suffered from mixed exploitation, 14 children were sold to third parties, and one person suffered from surrogate motherhood.
The championship is still held by Russia, at the same time in the top ten countries for the exploitation of Ukrainian citizens - the United Arab Emirates, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Poland and Turkey.
“Today, the Russian Federation remains the main country of exploitation of our citizens,” Nizhinsky said, adding that in 2019 alone, more than 240 people were recruited and exploited in the Russian Federation.
As for the regional distribution of the granting of these statuses, since 2012, 46 people have been granted them in Kiev, in the Vinnytsia region - 65, in the Volyn region - 42, in the Dnipropetrovsk region - 53, in Chernivtsi - 35, in Kharkiv - 72, in Donetsk - 30, in Ivano-Frankivsk - 24 and in Kiev - 18.
