The talks with the International Monetary Fund on a new long-term cooperation program for Ukraine are ongoing.

"The first meeting with the IMF took place today on October 16. Together with finance and economy ministers, we met with David Lipton, the First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF.

The talks on a new long-term cooperation program are ongoing," Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smolii, who participates in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., posted on Twitter.

He also announced a meeting with World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.

"Another important meeting is planned with World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller. Our KPI [key performance indicators] coincide with the World Bank - clearing the Ukrainian banking sector of non-performing loans as one of the necessary steps for recovery of business lending," the NBU governor noted.

The International Monetary Fund mission led by Ron van Rooden visited Kyiv on September 12-26, 2019 and started to discuss a new three-year program of support to Ukraine under the Extended Financing Facility.
