Uraine in Arabic | Saudi became first Arab producer nominated by MTV
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Arab Idol winner Palestinian Mohammad Assaf has been nominated in the category of “Best Middle East” artist. Ariana Grande has six successful nominations while 5 Seconds Of Summer and Pharrell Williams scored five nods each. Sam Smith, One Direction and Kiesza all have multiple nominations. Fans have also been given the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists via the Biggest Fans category. You can vote using the hashtag #EMABiggestFans along with the artists’ names.
Nominees have been announced for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards with Katy Perry leading the pack with seven nominations. Saudi Producer/DJ Omar Basaad, became the first Arab Electronic Dance Music (EDM) producer to be nominated for the best worldwide act in the “Best Middle East” artist category.
