Ukrainian Presidential the delegation of Hungarian visit to the Zakarpatia unacceptable
Visit of the delegation of Hungarian officials to the Zakarpatia region on the eve of the parliamentary elections in Ukraine is unacceptable. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko during a briefing on July 16.
He recalled that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had appealed to Hungarian colleagues with the request to avoid steps that could be considered as veiled support of certain political forces before the end of parliamentary elections. In particular, this concerns the meeting of one of the people's deputies of Ukraine with the Prime Minister of Hungary.
"It seems to me that, at a time when preparations for the elections are taking place, it would be possible to refrain from such trips as a neighboring and friendly state.
It was such a recommendation. Unfortunately, Hungarian colleagues did not hear us and began to act forcibly. We are a civilized country and do not forbid entry, for example, the Minister Szijjártó, who has arrived in Ukraine today," Vadym Prystaiko noted.
According to Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó was invited to visit Kyiv first, then together with the representatives of Ukraine visit the Zakarpattia region and hold a series of meetings there.
"Unfortunately, the Hungarian side did not hear us. They decided to do so as they do for a certain time. I believe that this practice is unacceptable. And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the new Head and the Office of the President will do certain steps to prevent this from happening again," Vadym Prystaiko stressed.
