Ukrainian intelligence prevented 10 assassination attempts on Poroshenko in 2018
One of the attempts was reportedly planned by Volodymyr Ruban, the head of the Ukrainian "Officer Corps" center for the exchange of prisoners of war.
Chief of the State Security Administration of Ukraine Valery Geletey has said over 10 assassination attempts on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko were prevented in 2018.
"Eleven assassination attempts on the president of our country alone were prevented in 2018," he told the Ukrainian Radio. As UNIAN reported earlier, in March 2018, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said head of the Ukrainian "Officer Corps" center for the exchange of prisoners of war Volodymyr Ruban was planning an assassination attempt on President Poroshenko, using a Topaz rifle, which is produced in the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic."
