Ukrainian diplomat reminded UN that his country opposes external aggression for 3 years

During a debate in the UN Security Council on conflict prevention and peace-keeping, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsia said that Ukraine has been opposing foreign military aggression in the form of "hybrid war" for the third consecutive year.

"In a globalized world, conflict is never too small. It applies to everyone, it is necessary to provide assistance, especially to those in need. There are conflicts in Europe, too. Ukraine for three years has been fighting against foreign military aggression. Invarious ways, it is manifested in the form of "hybrid war," he said.

"The General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning the aggression and occupation of Crimea, but the Security Council’s attempts to stop the military aggression were blocked by the same permanent member," sad Kyslytsia.

According to him, members of the Security Council and, in particular, the permanent members of the Security Council, have a special responsibility and special commitment. Kyslytsia said that Russia was given the status of the occupier state according to the latest UN General Assembly resolution. The resolution on the situation with human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (Ukraine) was supported by 70 UN member states, 77 countries abstained and 26 voted against it.

The countries that voted against the resolution were Angola, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Cambodia, China, Comoros, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Philippines, Russian Federation, Serbia, South Africa , South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
