Ukraine Should pay off about $6 bln debt next year
First Deputy Governor of the National Bank Kateryna Rozhkova said this in an interview with the Finance Ministry’s portal.
"Next year, Ukraine has to repay about $6 billion in external loans, another $2.8 billion in domestic debt denominated in foreign currency. And another UAH 129 billion, including interests, [it has to] pay for the domestic hryvnia liabilities of the Finance Ministry,” said Rozhkova.
At the same time, she added that she believes that there will be no problems with debt repayment.
"The Finance Ministry conducts government bonds’ auctions, and each time the rate becomes lower. Why? Our securities are in high demand. Investors see that the economy is moving in the right direction. In addition, the foreign currency debt of the Finance Ministry is gradually replacing domestic hryvnia resource to avoid currency risks," said Rozhkova.
Rozhkova also stressed that the growth of foreign exchange reserves is also positive for Ukraine.
