Such data are contained in the report on the implementation of the state budget for 2019, which the Ministry of Finance published in the official press of the government.

The government has made most of the new borrowings in the domestic market. There, they raised UAH 345.9 billion. Foreign markets attracted UAH 79.8 billion.

Almost 410 billion hryvnias of those that the Ministry of Finance has lent in 2019 have been sent to finance the general fund of the budget, ie running costs. The rest of the amount was directed to special programs (to the special budget fund).

“UAH 345.2 billion was spent on repayment of the main debt, including UAH 261.4 billion on repayment of the national debt, and UAH 83.8 billion on the external debt. Government debt is aimed at UAH 119.2 billion, ”the Finance Ministry said.

Also, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova noted that in 2019 the government saved UAH 26 billion in payments on the national debt due to the low exchange rate and effective management of borrowings.
