Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania have issued a joint statement on protests in Belarus

The foreign ministers emphasize that respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights

The countries of the Lublin Triangle - Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania - issued a joint statement on mass protests in Belarus. This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"We are deeply concerned about the escalation of the situation in Belarus after the presidential election and call on the authorities to refrain from using force and to release all detainees last night," the statement said.

The foreign ministers emphasize that respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights, including democracy and the rule of law, is essential for the further development of Belarus.

"We are convinced that only through dialogue the current situation can be resolved for the benefit of the people and the state of Belarus. If necessary, we are open to any assistance in promoting this dialogue, "the ministers stressed.
