Ukraine in Arabic | Ukrainian PM named main challenges of the country

Ukraine needs to struggle with the Russian aggression, corruption and to restore the national military-industrial complex

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Ukraine experiences a severe economic and political crisis. The new government of the country faces many tasks. Ukrainian people and Europe await the results.

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has announced three major challenges currently facing Ukraine.

He said this in parliament on Thursday, while presenting a government action program.

He said that the first challenge was a threat to independence. “This threat is related, first and foremost, to Russian aggression,” Yatsenyuk said, adding that Ukraine is also dependent on Russian energy.

The second challenge is military-economic losses. He said that the state had lost “20% of revenues, 20% of foreign exchange earnings, and 20% of economic potential” because of the war in Donbas.

“Today the situation is more complicated than it was nine months ago,” the premier said.

The third challenge to Ukraine, Yatsenyuk said, is a corruption that engulfed the system of government agencies, the law enforcement system, etc.
