Ukraine in Arabic | The Timeless Art Exhibition held in Ankara
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Yesterday, on October 22nd, the grand opening of the exhibition of sculptures and engravings on wood took place at Mustafa Ayaz Museum and Plastic Centre in Ankara (Turkey). The famous Turkish artist Belgin Onar Durmaz has been worked on the exposure for 25 years.
The exhibition consists of 34 exhibits, including 20 engravings and 14 sculptures. According to theirs author it’s symbolized the endless stream of time. "I believe that time is a living matter, which is constantly changing and evolving. This exhibition displays the important moments of our lives that cannot be stopped, but can be recorded by the art, "- Belgin Durmaz said in an exclusive interview to IA "Ukraine in Arabic". One of the motives which prompted the artist to create a unique exhibition was the thirst for freedom in all its manifestations. "As you know, one of the urgent problems of Turkey is the lack of political freedom and traditional discrimination of women. By my arts I wanted to show that each of us can be break by the wind. However, all together we will win. This is the most natural and safe way of struggle "- said the artist.
Belgin Onar Durmaz was born in 1965, in Malatya (Turkey). She became interested in art at school. In 1988, she graduated from Gazi University, department of fine arts. In 1991, she received a master's degree from the department of social sciences. She currently works in the state sphere of art education and has numerous awards in the arts.
The exposition will run until November 2nd of 2014.
