Ukraine in Arabic | The Legacy of Vainakhs exhibition opened in Kiev
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On October 22nd, 2012, within The From the Dnieper to the Terek Festival of Ukrainian-Chechen Friendship an exhibition of Chechen artists’ work opened in The Art Hall Capital Gallery.
The event was attended by the director of The Art Hall Capital Gallery Yuri Krulikovsky, director of The Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov state gallery Kharon Bolotbiyev, the chairman of the Diaspora of Chechen people All-Ukrainian Union Salman Sadayev, head of the International Union civil organization Larisa Abramovich, representatives of the Chechen diaspora in Ukraine and numerous guests.
After the symbolic red ribbon-cutting ceremony Yuri Krulikovsky said that, despite the numerous projects that have been implemented in the gallery, Chechen paintings have never been presented here.
"This event is unique. Knowing the difficult situation in the Chechen Republic, we show this wonderful place through art and objects of folk decorative art. Although the exhibition will last three days, it will be very bright and rich," - he said.
According to Kharon Bolotbiyev, the exhibition presents 30 artworks of Chechen artists. “These artists work in the genre of realism, impressionism and surrealism. Most of the pictures here are the landscapes which reflect the spiritual power of the Chechen people”, he said.
