Ukraine in Arabic | The From the Dnieper to the Terek International Festival held in Kiev
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ The traditional international festival of Ukrainian-Chechen Friendship Society was held in Kiev from 20 to 24 October, 2013.
The festival was organized by The Diaspora of the Chechen people Ukrainian public organization headed by leader Daniil Goncharov.
Within the festival, on October 19, the delegation of students from the Chechen Republic has come to Kiev. They represented the Chechen State University and the Chechen State Pedagogical Institute. Students had a walk through the historical center of Kiev and made an excursion to the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Pirogov.
The From the Dnieper to the Terek Festival started from boxing tournament for the Cup of the Chechen diaspora which took place at the Spartak Kiev stadium. The competition was attended by over 40 young athletes, including a 7-year-old representative of the Chechen nation Muhammad Ali Magomadov, who won the competition. Later student visited the Ar-Rahma Kiev mosque.
On October 21, the students met with their friends from the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. They met with the teaching staff of the University and visited classrooms, campus and Lyceum of Physics and Mathematics.
On October 22, the delegation made a trip to the Kyiv Polytechnic Instituteand the National Aviation University. Students met with Vice Rector, visited the largest hangar-museum and the Museum of Aviation under the open sky in city of Zhulyany. Also they took a walk through the Mariinsky Park, the central streets of Kiev, as well as other famous places of capital.
On October 23, a roundtable meeting of students from different universities in Ukraine and the Chechen Republic was organized in the 101 Tower business center. The event was attended by the head of the Diaspora of the Chechen people Daniil Goncharov, and its chairman Salman Sadayev as well as the chairman of the International Union public organization (IU) Larisa Goncharova. Chevalier of the Order of Akhmad Kadyrov Shaid Zhamaldaev and the Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information of the Chechen Republic Yusup Zubayrayev became the guests of honor of the meeting.
The meeting resulted in an appeal to the rector of the Chechen State University with the proposal of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University.
At the end of the festival the concert of the Vainah Chechen State Ensemble took place in the concert hall of the Ukraine Palace.
