Ukraine in Arabic | Steinmeier : The Situation in the East of Ukraine is get better

Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Washington. The situation in the East of Ukraine has significantly improved, according to the Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ The ceasefire is still observed, now the OSCE should be able to control the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the separation line, said Steinmeier on Wednesday, March 11, during a visit to Washington.

 "All contributes to the fact that, hopefully, in the coming days and weeks, the situation will become stable enough to move to the implementation of the next phase of the Minsk agreements", - quotes the words of the Minister Reuters.

On the way to Washington Steinmeier held telephone talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. As reported on the website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Ministers, noting that the situation in the conflict zone in the East of Ukraine "remains tense", and stressed the need to complete the withdrawal of heavy weapons and the observance of the ceasefire.

 Meanwhile, Russia's Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has accused the U.S. and NATO are using the situation in Ukraine "as an excuse to return to the quickened policy, including attempts to influence us power pressure".

"Attempts to pressure, whether sanctions or through the deployment of any military capabilities, are doomed" - quoted his words "Interfax". Speaking in particular about sending U.S. troops in the Baltic States, he said that "it will not remain without attention."
