Ukraine in Arabic | Russia began to withdraw its troops from Ukraine

Despite the persistent violations of the truce the number of Russian troops in eastern Ukraine has considerably decreased, said Ukrainian President

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that most of the Russian troops have moved away from Ukraine's eastern border.

"According to the latest data of our intelligence, 70% of Russian troops have withdrawn behind the [Ukrainian-Russian] border and this gives more reason to hope that the peace initiatives have a future," the Ukrainian president said at a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He also stressed that today "on our common work, on the country's unity depends how effective will be further development of events."
