Mawlid is the celebration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, which holds of the third month of the Muslim lunar calendar.

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On January 29, 2014, a solemn celebration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Mawlid) was held in one of the Poltava’s restaurants. The event was attended by 200 people, including community leaders and members of ethnic communities.

One of the guests of the holiday was the chapter department of the external connections RAUM Sheikh Khusameddin Al-Khalavani. The Diaspora of the Chechen people Ukrainian public organization was represented by its Chairman Salman Sadayev. They called on all those present to show an example of high culture and morality.

Also the grand event was attended by representatives of the government.The director of the department of information activities and Communication of the Poltava Regional State Administration Mykola Perepelitsa made a welcoming speech. He conveyed greetings on behalf of the head of the regional administration Alexander Udovychenko.

"On behalf of the regional authorities I congratulate you on the occasion of Mawlid an-Nabi (Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad). The regional government appreciates the noble work of the Muslim community and a significant contribution of every Muslim in developing of Poltava.

Today the Muslim religious community actively cooperates with the authorities.

Thank you for this important work, and I wish you happiness, good, good health, peace and harmony of each family", he said.

The event continued with a warm and pleasant family atmosphere.
