Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr and noted the importance of the Islamic community in the country, the press service head of state.
"The Islamic community of Ukraine is an active participant in the political, socio-economic, cultural life of the country, contributes to the preservation of the spiritual heritage, has made considerable efforts to establish peace and harmony on Ukrainian soil," - said in the message.
The President of Ukraine expressed the belief that "together we will build a strong and prosperous European state."
Poroshenko noted that the Eid al-Adha is a symbol of the life force, the will of the faithful and charity. In days of celebrations, according to tradition, Muslims around the world meet in the family circle, honor the memory of their ancestors and help the needy.
