Ukraine in Arabic | Organizations of the national minorities discussed the mechanisms of the work with the new Ukrainian government in Kiev
On June 20 in Kiev it was held a press conference where the results of the II All-Ukrainian Forum of National Minorities "We are one people", which took place a day before, were summed up. The initiator of the event held at UNIAN was International public organization "International Union".
The press conference was attended by head of the board of the "International Union" Larisa Abramovich, first deputy head the Board of the organization and deputy of the Kiev City Council Alexander Kharchenko (party "UDAR"), head of the Commission on Inter-Ethnic Relations and the protection of national minorities Yuri Reshetnikov, head the public organization "Institute of national diplomacy" Arif Guliyev, president of the Union of the Ural nations in Ukraine Nadezhda Yefimishch, head of the public organization "Collection of the Romanesque cultural heritage" Vladimir Lupashco-Muzichenko, president of the International Congress for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms "Shield" Saleh Mohammad Dagher, president of Zaporozhian public organization "The Arab Center" Naufal Hamdani and a deputy director of the law firm "Law of the word" Svetlana Gitchenko.
The participants of the event discussed issues of political and social situation in Ukraine and principles and mechanisms of the work of organizations of national minorities and the new government. Also they spoke about a legal status of the House of Nationalities, law and the provisions of some ethnic groups on the territory of our state and the question of legal assistance and social protection of national minorities in the conditions in Ukraine.
Thereby, Alexandr Kharchenko paid a special attention to speculation of the ban of Russian language on the territory of Ukraine. “Forum “We are one people” was held by virtue of those events took place in our country before. There’s an information that it will be imposed a ban for using Russian language at Ukraine. It’s not true”, - said Kharchenko. Larisa Abramovich in her turn stressed the importance of determining the vector of the bilateral work of non-governmental organizations on the rights of minorities and the government.
“We shouldn’t be limited only by requests and appeals but must unite to produce real results. I need to note that there‘re no and never will be any inter-ethnic disagreements in Ukraine. "International Union" makes every effort for the establishment of peace and understanding, "- said Abramovich. Yuri Reshetnikov expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the Forum. He emphasized the importance of that fact that Forum was carried out by joint efforts with an aim to offer the government a common vision of solving various issues which concern representatives of other nationalities. These proposals are presented in the outcome document of the Forum.
Yuri Reshetnikov also pointed an activation of the state policy in the field of ethno-national relations at spring-summer of this year. According to him at the same there are a number of issues need to be addressed. Participants of the Forum offer solutions exactly of these problems within the framework of public and state partnerships.The head of "Institute of national diplomacy" Arif Guliyev, speaking about the situation in the east of Ukraine, noted that meaningful dialogue can be achieved only with help experienced parliamentarians. “I want to underline that Ukraine has a close positive cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of counter-terrorism and separatism. I believe that stability and peace will be achieved with the participation of authorized negotiators.
The real man is the one who can turn his enemy to his friend. Yesterday's forum showed an example that people of different nationalities are not separated but united ones", - summed up Guliyev.
Saleh Mohammad Dagher also emphasized the role of "international union" in dealing with national minorities and urged state authorities to listen to their opinion. He told that his organization "Shield" during already 3 years has been engaged in the protection of people of different nationalities and make an offer about a presence of representatives of national minorities at the meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Naufal Hamdani, in his speech highly appreciated Forum held before and pointed sounded there “gold words” which for his opinion will certainly be followed by a necessary result. He urged the government of Ukraine to hear these words of representatives of national minorities.
Speaking about Zaporozhye where his organization "The Arab Center" is functioning, Hamdani said that the population of that region can easily converse in any language they prefer. Also he told about refugees from the Crimea and eastern Ukraine who are living there. As he says that Crimean Tatars have an opportunity to study at universities in Zaporozhye on a budgetary basis.
The press conference ended by discussion of the approved and signed package of recommendations of II All-Ukrainian Forum of national minorities of Ukraine regarding urgent measures for the implementation of state ethnic policy in our country. According the press conference participants, the first steps in the realization of ethnic policies in today's socio-political situation are the following:
- Resumption of the central body of executive power in the sphere of international relations, and the establishment of its branches in all regions of Ukraine;
- Establishment the Interdepartmental Commission on combating xenophobia, ethnic and racial intolerance under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- Broad involvement of national minorities in decision-making related to their interests;
- Approval of laws of Ukraine “About the concept of the state ethnic policy of Ukraine” and “About national minorities of Ukraine (as amended)”;
- Creation of the Center of development of national minority cultures (House of Nationalities);
- Improving the state system of the financial and logistic support for the cultural development of national minorities.
