Ukraine in Arabic | Japan will provide financial aid to Ukraine
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Japan as part of G7 intends to support Ukraine with 7 billion dollars this week, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Milan (Italy) on October 16.
Shinzo Abe assured that his country was ready to support Ukraine's application for a membership in ASEM.
Due to the ruined infrastructure and the loss of industrial production, Japan is ready to provide Ukraine $6 million for the restoration of infrastructure and $1 million for medical assistance to injured residents of the Donbas.
Earlier, Japan had already been giving Ukraine $1.5 billion assistance.
Poroshenko said that the parties had reached an arrangement to elaborate bilateral agreement on the attraction and protection of investments. The president characterized meeting with the prime minister of Japan as "very productive".
"We coordinated our future steps for this year and for the next year," the head of state said.
The interlocutors agreed to develop cooperation in the sphere of nuclear objects. Japan is also willing to develop energy and investment cooperation with Ukraine.
The parties discussed the possibility of visa regime liberalization between the two countries.
Poroshenko had invited the Japanese prime minister to visit Ukraine at his convenience.
