Ukraine in Arabic | Iran makes progress in the development of nanotechnology
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Presently, there are 150 Iranian companies active in the field of nanotechnology, 50 of which are working in producing nano-products for medical purposes.
The criterion for evaluating a country’s ranking in terms of nanotechnology is the number of its published ISI papers and books.
Chairman of the Working Group on Human Resources Development affiliated to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, Mehdi Rezayat, explained that the ranking is based on the number of articles published in international journals, books on nanotechnology and students’ research.
“Nanotechnology made up 30 percent of Iran’s international patent applications,” he said, adding that this indicates the country’s growth in nanotechnology.
Rezayat noted that Iranian experts have developed over 300 products, using nanotechnology.
“Nanotechnology has applications in steel, construction, textile and car manufacturing industries,” he said, adding that it also has uses in medicine such as producing sprays, gels and medicines.
He further said Iranians have produced anticancer drugs, using nanotechnology, stressing that these drugs have lower side effects.
Rezayat said the country exports the medications to neighboring countries.
