KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On November 14th in, in Kiev, the representative of the International Union public organization (IU) Nawfal Hamdani made a speech at the memorial evening dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the deportation of the Meskhetian Turks from the territory of Georgia.
In his speech on behalf of the organization, Mr. Hamdani has expressed its deepest condolences to the representatives of the people who during 70 years cannot return to their homeland.
According to him, while Soviet authorities were depriving the Meskhetian Turks from their homes, most of the men of this nation fought defending the USSR against Nazi invaders.
IU representative also said that after the massacres of 1989, aimed at peaceful Turks in the eastern regions of the Soviet Union, these long-suffering people were again relocated. One of the republic in which they moved, was Ukraine.
“Today we recall these heinous crimes against your people. There is nothing more frustrating than to tear of people from their land. But the Meskhetian Turks were warmly received on Ukrainian soil”, he said.
Mr. Hamdani also noted that Ukraine, which has always been a ‘warm house, the land of peace and hospitality’ for all nations, need a support of every citizen now.
