Ukraine in Arabic | II All-Ukrainian Forum of national minorities "We are one people" took place in Kiev
On June 19 II All-Ukrainian Forum of national minorities "We are one people" took place at the Central House of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kiev.
The event was initiated by members of the board of the International public organization "International Union" in common with Public Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the public organization "New Generation of Ukrainian scientists", the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Union of public organizations "For civil society."
There were guests and representatives from different diasporas, foreign missions and minorities of Ukraine. The main topic of the Forum was a search for positive and effective solutions which are need to be offered to the government for further cooperation between Ukrainian state and society in the field of ethnic and national relations. It’s need to note that participants discussed a project of proposals of the national minorities of Ukraine about priority measures for the implementation of the state ethnic policy. This project will help to create comfortable conditions for the construction of ethnic and political processes in Ukraine.
The first welcome speech was pronounced by a chairman of the member’s board of public organization "International Union" Larisa Abramovich. Addressing to guests and participants of the event she emphasized the importance of the Forum from position of that realities that are taking place now in Ukrainian society and the in the state as a whole. "Our Forum demonstrates the unity of people of different nationalities who consider Ukraine as their second home and want to live in peace, mutual understanding. We are appealing to country's new leadership with a proposal of practical realization of the developed program on ethnic relations", - said Larisa Abramovich.
Further, a salutatory word was taken by commissioner for ethnic policy of Ukraine Gennady Druzenko. He offered to participants of the Forum his conception and vision of cooperation between the government and ethnic minorities. His 3 proposals he united in 3 capacious ideas - communication, cooperation and combination.
“The most urgent question now is not a minorities but the ethnic policy. All ethic diasporas are need to live in comfortable conditions in Ukraine including the main one. We can’t talk about minorities in isolation from the Ukrainian nation. Also, we can’t forget about current difficult situation. Of course, a state can help with the implementation plan for the House of Nationalities, but a driving force must be members of the communities, diasporas and nationalities. Forum, or rather scientific-practical conference, is useful because of bilateral dialogue. We need to thank organizers of "International Union of" for initiative and work. We will work together hereinafter to achieve concrete solutions and results”, - said Gennady Druzenko.
Salman Sadayev, chairman of the board of All-Ukrainian public organization "The Diaspora of the Chechen people" offered to presents to join efforts in the process of the creation of the House of Nationalities and promote the new Ukrainian government in the search for dialogue with national minorities. "I urge to unite forces and help the young Ukrainian state to build a multi-ethnic society. I propose to move an amendment to a document on the creation of the House of Representatives of national minorities to form additional committee under the state authorities", - said Salman Sadayev. President of the Association of Romanian culture "Bessarabia" Anatoly Popescu announced to all presents a position of the Romanian community forum about recent events in Ukraine, which are strongly reflected in the social and political map of the world.
“I want to note that there are more than 400 thousand representatives of Romanian-speaking population in Ukraine. The Government of Romania and the Romanian community forum condemns the annexation of Crimea by Russia, separatism, and the introduction of such concept as Novorossiya. Romania supports the desire of the Ukrainian society towards integration into the European community, and invites the new Ukrainian government close transnational cooperation”, - underlined Anatoly Popescu.
Also presentations of their reports at the Forum were made by representatives and heads of public organizations and associations of Hungarians, Bulgarians, Azeris, Hindus, Chechens, and many others. By the way, some speeches were given by invited delegates from law firms, charities and government agencies.
The meeting was concluded with the final approval and signing of Recommendations of II All-Ukrainian Forum of national minorities of Ukraine concerning urgent measures for the implementation of state ethnic policy.
