The European Central Bank (ECB) not belonging to restructure Greek debt, said on Monday a member of the Board of governors of the Central Bank, Christian Noyer.
"The Greek debt to the ECB cannot be restructured by definition, since that would be monetary financing of the state", - quotes his statement to Bloomberg. Such direct funding is prohibited by EU legislation.
The ECB has not yet decided how to respond to Sunday's referendum in Greece, where residents spoke in opposition of creditors, said Christian Noyer.
Debt relief, which require Athens, is not a topic for discussion and was not the subject of the interrupted negotiations on granting of Greece of the new aid package, said the representative of the Ministry.
