Ukraine in Arabic | Day of Chechen culture held in Belaya Tserkov
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ On September 21st, the Day of Chechen culture was carried out in city of Belaya Tserkov. The event was attended by representatives of the city authorities, the Chechen Diaspora in Ukraine, historians, members of the International Union civil organization (IU) and the national societies of Belaya Tserkov.
The chairman of the Diaspora Salman Sadayevstressed that such events are organized for Ukrainians to get acquainted with the culture of the Chechen people. “Everybody imagine Chechens as fighters or athletes but there are scholars, poets, and philosophers among us”, he said.
The expert on the history and culture of the North Caucasus Yuri Kosenko told about the Maikop archaeological culture that had been prevalented the Northern Caucasus and the linguistic similarity of the population of the ancient state of Urartu and Chechens.
The young Chechens read out poems in Ukrainian language. The representatives of German and Jewish Diaspora of Belaya Tserkov also made speeches at the event.
The musical component of the event was represented by two Chechen songs performed by accordion player Idris.
