Ukraine in Arabic | Congress about Crimean Tatars genocide was held in Istanbul

In Istanbul in the premises of the Congress centre, Halic Congress was held, dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars.

Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ In Istanbul in the premises of the Congress centre, Halic Congress was held, dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars.  

The event was held under the auspices of the Directorate of Turks living abroad, the Association of cultural and economic cooperation of the Crimean Turks and cultural platform DERSAADET, reports aa.com.tr.

The event looked into the history of the deportation and its consequences for the current state of the Crimean Tatar people. The Congress began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the deportation of the Crimean Tatars and read the Quran.

The Chairman of the cultural platform DERSAADET Mehmet Kamil Beerse noted that, despite the years, the consequences of deportation are not forgotten, reports blackseanews.net. According to him, it was not an exile, but a real genocide. If the materials about this event translate into foreign languages, it is possible to get their voices heard to many people, he added.
