Ukraine in Arabic | Confirmed death toll from Mariupol rocket attack rises to 31
KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Ukrainian official confirms death toll from grad rocket attack in Mariupol increases to 31 people. As Ukrainian families continue to bury their loved ones following the recent Mariupol atrocity, it's been confirmed that the death toll has risen from 30 to 31 - informed Ukraine Today.
The Head of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Donetsk region said that "as of today, because of attacks by terrorists in a neighbourhood of Mariupol, 31 people have died and 108 have been injured to varying degrees of severity."
Last Saturday grad rocket strikes, which the OSCE confirmed, came from areas controlled by Russian-backed militants and hit a residential area in Mariupol. The deadly assault came just hours after militant leader Alexander Zakharchenko rejected peace and said a major offensive was underway.
In the aftermath of the attack, Ukrainian defence chief Oleksander Turchynov blamed Russia for the "crime against humanity", a claim denied by the Kremlin.
