The mufti of Ukraine Sheikh Ahmed Tamim, last week visited Egypt to participate in the conference entitled "the Greatness of Islam and the error of those who are mistaken: the path to reform," also became a guest of a live one of the Central channels of the Egyptian television.

Ahmed Tamim said that the DUMA at the time of independence has been able to conduct the hard work and instill in Ukrainian Muslims and society as a whole is true, correct and peaceful image of Islam.

The mufti also said the Egyptian and Arab viewers that in our country there are about two million Muslims, which is 5% of the total population. Further Ahmed Tamim touched on the issue of extremism and distortion of this image of Islam in the West. He noted that if you delve into history, we can understand that the distorted image of Islam is not something new, but in the last two centuries, witnessed by our generation, you can see the intensification of extremist groups and organizations.

Sheikh Ahmed Tatum noted that all of these these organizations, regardless of the name, combines wrong and distorted interpretation of Islam, and they create the impression of its brutality. The problem is compounded by the fact that the extremists successfully use the freedom and democracy of the Western countries, basing organizations, schools, issuing propaganda literature in different languages, and the like.

These organizations also recruit and spoil the young generation of local Muslims who grew up or were born in these countries, said the mufti. Ahmed Tamim also touched on such an interesting question as the activity of radical organizations in the context of the Palestinian problem.

According to the mufti, the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian problem will greatly help in the fight against the radicals, because in this case they will lose one of its primary assets, which they successfully exploited.

The mufti of Ukraine also urged all Muslim scholars, theologians consensus, stressing that it is necessary to refrain from spreading rash of fatwas, which are at variance with the real Islam, and to unite around a common platform, which is currently the al-Azhar.
