Visa-free prospects for Ukraine to come closer once necessary criteria fulfilled, said Merkel German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that the joint declaration of the EU Eastern Partnership Summit will give prospects of a visa-free regime for Ukraine - provided the latter fulfills the necessary criteria.

Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that the joint declaration of the EU Eastern Partnership Summit will give prospects of a visa-free regime for Ukraine - provided the latter fulfills the necessary criteria. 

Speaking ahead of a full session of the summit in Riga on Friday, Merkel also said the summit declaration will express the EU’s firm stance regarding the inviolability of states’ territorial integrity.

Merkel said : The conversation was very harmonious, and we reached agreement.

“It will be a joint declaration where all the parties have agreed that the territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, and there will be a clear perspective for visa-free travel by the end of this year if the necessary criteria are met."
