Ukraine has improved its position in gender equality
Ukraine has risen six positions in the ranking of gender equality. In the updated version published on the website of the World Economic Forum, our country takes 59th place out of 153 countries, overtaking even Israel and being in close proximity to the United States.
The top ten included Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Ireland, Spain, Rwanda and Germany.
France takes the 15th place, Great Britain the 21st, Zimbabwe 47th, the USA 51st, Ukraine 59th, Israel 61st, Uganda 65th. Russia is located on line 81, between El Salvador (80) and Ethiopia (82).
The last places in the ranking were occupied by Arab countries - Saudi Arabia (146), Iran (148), Syria (150), Pakistan (151), Iraq (152) and Yemen (153).
In 2019, the authors of the study studied the situation in 153 countries; they took into account the participation of men and women in the economy, access to education, involvement in politics and the level of health. The overall index was 68.6%, that is, gender inequality averages 31.4% - 101 countries have improved their performance, the results of another 48 have not changed.
