Ukraine already exported over 15 M tonnes of grains
Ukraine has already exported more than 15 million tonnes of grain since the beginning of the 2019/2020 marketing year (MY), the press service of the Ukrainian Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry reports.
“As of October 11, 2019, Ukraine has exported 15,096 tonnes of grain crops since the beginning of the 2019/2020 marketing year, which is 4.6 million tonnes more than in the same period of the last marketing year,” the report states.
In particular, Ukraine exported 9.6 million tonnes of wheat, 3.0 million tonnes of barley, 2 thousand tonnes of rye, and 2.4 million tonnes of corn.
In addition, the export of wheat flour and other crops amounted to 92.8 thousand tonnes, which is 39.4 thousand tonnes more compared to the same period of the last marketing year.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Dmytro Solohub said that the grain harvest in Ukraine in 2019 could reach a record 80 million tonnes thanks to increased productivity of the agricultural sector.
