UIA Dubai flights may be closed due to tension
Ukraine International Airlines, whose plane was shot down near Tehran, is considering closing flights to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) due to the need to fly over the Persian Gulf.
This was announced by UIA President Yevgeny Dykhne in an interview with the Livyi Bereh.
"Dubai is in question ... There are options if we find them appropriate. We still need to compete with those who do not fly around this area," he said.
Dykhne noted that in this case the company will not fly to Dubai without refueling, which can be done in Larnaca (Cyprus) or in Antalya (Turkey).
He also confirmed the closure of flights to Bangkok (Thailand), since at the moment UIA is already flying there at a loss. In addition, UIA has not yet considered the possibility of resuming flights to Beijing (China).
